Bio

 

Bronwen Tate teaches creative writing at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC. Her debut poetry collection The Silk the Moths Ignore, National Winner of the 2019 Hillary Gravendyk Prize, is forthcoming from Inlandia Institute. A citizen of the Chickasaw nation, Bronwen received an MFA in Literary Arts from Brown University and a PhD in Comparative Literature from Stanford University. She is the author of seven poetry chapbooks, and her poems and essays have appeared in venues including Denver Quarterly, Bennington Review, and the Journal of Modern Literature. Her work has been supported by Stanford’s DARE (Diversifying Academia Recruiting Excellence) Fellowship, as well as by fellowships from the Stanford Humanities Center and Vermont Studio Center.

Finally made it to the ubc MOA
I made this 🍒 apricot version a few weeks ago but I forgot to show you.
We’ve reached the time of year when I will make a galette at the slightest provocation. (Blueberries we picked today, nectarine, half-rye crust, thin layer of almond paste between fruit and crust)
V did some furtive blueberry picking in the remains of her face paint

#ubcfarm had 3 kinda of beets so I made a pretty salad: layer of feta smooshed and whisked with olive oil and lemon juice, layer of kale ribbons, layer of shaved fennel, top with 🥑 and beets, more 🍋 juice, flaky salt. 👌🏼#kalesalad #glutenfree #be
I know kale salad with beets and goat cheese is a pretty standard salad, but I topped it with sautéed mushrooms (oyster, shiitake, portobello) and crispy sage and it kind of felt like a *recipe*
